Amazing New Tool

At last weekend's Reaching At-Promise Students Association National Conference in San Diego, one of the presenters, Bill Daggett, introduced the teachers in his seminar to Siftables.  They are this pretty incredible new tool that is being developed and should be available in the next year or so.  His point was that students have access to smart phones, PDAs, video game systems, and all sorts of truly engaging things.  Then they come into our classrooms and many teachers say, "Open the book and answer these questions." School, as a result, is boring, it's irrelevant to them.  Made me think about my own teaching practices.  Have a brief look at these interactive blocks in action:
