U.S. History for Tuesday & Wednesday, February 9 & 10

  1. Notes:  Tuskegee Airmen, Navajo Code Talkers, & America's Response to the Holocaust.  Copy from a classmate.
  2. Watched brief excerpt on the Holocaust from The War.
  3. Began work on the final battles of World War II:
    1. Battle of the Bulge
    2. Iwo Jima
    3. Okinawa
One website we visited was a site about the Navajo code used during the war.  You can visit the site here and practice the code for yourself!

U.S. History for Thursday & Friday, February 4 & 5

 In class we went to the Battle of Midway website created by National Geographic.  Check it out to see the pictures of the USS Yorktown, some 16,000 feet under the surface of the Pacific Ocean!

Also, last week we tried to go to the National Geographic site on Pearl Harbor.  We couldn't get to it in class, so here it is.  Also, there's an off-shoot site that is fully interactive.  It's a really cool feature that they have on Pearl Harbor--check it out here.
